Jaguar Land Rover has announced a global drive to hire employees who have been laid off by Meta and Twitter.

In today’s job market, it’s not uncommon for employees to be laid off due to company budget cuts. Twitter and Meta’s announcement that they are laying off workers has come as a shock to many in the tech industry. But what if there was a company that was actively hiring employees that had been laid off from other companies? That’s exactly what Jaguar Land Rover has announced they’re doing with their global drive to hire laid-off employees from Meta, Twitter and other tech companies.

In a recent statement, automotive company Jaguar Land Rover, said more than 800 digital and engineering vacancies will be filled through this global hiring drive, adding that roles are available across Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Driving, Cloud Software, Data Science, Electrification, and Machine Learning. These jobs are available in the UK, Ireland, China, USA, Hungary, and India.

Jaguar Land Rover will launch a new job portal for workers displaced by recent job losses in the tech industry as mentioned in their release. The portal will offer hybrid working patterns and career opportunities for those affected.

Meanwhile, Anthony Battle, the CEO of JLR, described the opportunity as an ‘important next step,’ according to the statement.

We are further strengthening our data and digital skills base so we can deliver our Reimagine strategy and become an electric-first business from 2025 and achieve carbon net zero by 2039.

Our digital transformation journey is well underway but being able to recruit highly skilled digital workers is an important next step. We are pleased to be able to provide opportunities to talented individuals with digital capabilities.
