Tech Developments Previews the Future at the Recent XR Fair Tokyo

Visitors and exhibitors from all over the globe experienced the future in the recent run of XR Fair Tokyo. Held on July 3–5, 2024, the show’s unique and innovative offerings electrified the show halls of Tokyo Big Sight. The summer edition continued to push the boundaries of what technology can be, equally changing how society progresses with novel devices and digitalisation.

Organised by RX Japan Ltd., the show boasted 46,177* visitors[M(1] , along with 833*[S(2] [M(3]  key industry players that exhibited across concurrent shows. Not to mention drawing in international professionals and enthusiasts from 36 countries/regions including Italy, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Belgium, Canada, Singapore, Poland, India, Uganda, Estonia, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and more. This impressive participation is a testament to the event’s strong branding as one of the leading exhibitions for technology solutions and groundbreaking discoveries.

In this highly digital age, technology has been integrated into the very fabric of society. It has penetrated most end-to-end processes, from manufacturing, production, entertainment, education, health, and more. As such, considering the growing changes and demands across multiple sectors, businesses and their technology must rise to the occasion to guarantee their success and survival in their respective cut-throat industries.

And XR Fair Tokyo did not disappoint in offering attendees a one-stop solution to the challenges they face. Alongside concurrent shows like CONTENT Tokyo and Metaverse Expo Tokyo, a wide range of innovations spanning AR/MR, VR, and XR donned the show floor for visitors seeking new and advanced technologies to leverage. Tremendous opportunities for B2B networking, partnerships, and hassle-free negotiations were proudly made possible by the event. Coinciding with live demonstrations of staggering tech products and devices, it was a wonder for industry professionals to not only witness the future but also to secure it, all under one roof.

The show’s conference sessions also addressed the challenges of the sector, with topics spanning from tech innovations changing the game like the Apple Vision Pro impacting entertainment, gaming, amusement, education, and art to how XR and its twin Metaverse can scale up customer attraction strategies to gain more sales through a virtual and real-world marketing approach.

Significant speakers at the conference were Funakoshi, Yasushi, the President and CEO of HIKKY INC.; Kondo, Hirohito and Ueda, Yoshinori of SONY’s XR Business Development Division; and Watanabe, Nobuhiko, the Director and COO of STYLY Inc.

The show and all its concurrent programmes’ were met with positive reviews from its exhibitors, making it a definite success. Premier software innovator KEIKI, initially registered as an exhibitor at XR Fair Tokyo to attract Japanese companies for collaborations. The business surpassed this goal with live demos of its products and services, encouraging feedback right from the show floor, exchanging 100 business cards with other brands, and even meeting large corporations, not just in Japan but also from China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, and more.

Similarly, Skyworth XR seamlessly connected with various industries that can adapt the advanced technology they offer for progress. XR Fair Tokyo afforded the opportunity to network with decision-makers in the fields of education, training, healthcare, governance, and software across other countries like Malaysia, Canada, and India.

More exhibitors and visitors alike are looking forward to the next edition, inwhich the show name will be renewed as “XR & Metaverse Fair Tokyo”, combining the 2 shows: XR Fair Tokyo and Metaverse Expo Tokyo. The show will be held with high hopes and assurance of peeking into what the future can look like going forward. As such, the XR & Metaverse Fair Tokyo show management invites industry professionals for its next run, set to happen in Makuhari Messe, Japan, from November 20–22, 2024.
