Tesla’s Robotaxi Reveal Set for August 8, Budget Electric Vehicle Still on the Cards

In a move that could redefine urban transportation, Tesla Inc. has announced the unveiling of its highly anticipated Robotaxi on August 8, 2024. This announcement comes amidst the backdrop of the company’s discontinuation of the Model 2 project, which was poised to be Tesla’s most affordable electric vehicle offering.

During the call, Musk stated, “We are thrilled to announce a dedicated unveiling event for our fully autonomous ride-hailing service on August 8th. While details regarding the robotaxi service itself were scarce during the call, Musk has previously indicated that it will utilize modified versions of Tesla’s existing production vehicles, likely the Model 3 and Model Y. The company has also been actively recruiting engineers and researchers with expertise in autonomous driving technology, suggesting a serious commitment to bringing the robotaxi service to fruition.
